Bringing light to our schools!!!

I had a call with buildOn the other day and found out that our school in Nepal and all other schools are going to be powered by solar energy!!!! How AMAZING that is! I’ve always been worried about the electricity in some of the villages. But not anymore!

SolarCity has created GivePower Foundation and began partnership with buildOn to provide solar energy to primary schools in the developing world. GivePower Foundation will also train community members to install and maintain the solar power systems at the schools in their villages.

Each solar installation will come with batteries that can store energy and provide electricity at night – a crucial element to transforming the learning experience for those in nighttime Adult Literacy Classes and for students who typically learn by lantern light. Now, these schools truly become centers of light for their communities!!! ❤ ❤ ❤
