Detroit Free Press Marathon
Last weekend I ran my 18th marathon in Detroit, Michigan. We raised almost $4,000 for kids and schools!! Thank you everyone for your donations and love. I could never do it without your unwavering support. I am forever grateful. ❤
This wasn’t an easy marathon. Marathons are never easy, but this in particular felt harder. I did not feel well, I started the race sick. I had a bit fever and a tooth infection. The antibiotics made me feel weak; I felt like I was carrying bricks on my back and my legs felt heavy. I was very happy when I finished. I went back to the hotel, checked out, went straight to the airport and slept all afternoon until my 9pm flight back to NY. The sleep actually made me feel so much better. Next day I felt well enough to go to work.
I feel much better now and seeing the dentist definitely helped. 🙂
Pretty medal!
The marathon is fun! Flat course mostly and you get to cross the border and run few miles in Ontario, Canada. Some of my favorite moments were running along the River Walk and crossing the Ambassador Bridge into Canada. The course also takes you through some beautiful historic neighborhoods in Detroit.
My next marathon is in Oklahoma, next month. But first, I will be traveling to Africa this week to help build another school. I can’t tell you how HaPpY I am! And I can’t wait for you to meet our new team!!!
Thank you again for all your support and love. Together we are so much stronger and we can help so many families and create better opportunities for children.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤ ❤ ❤
