Rockin’ and Chocolate Marathon
Last weekend I ran my 26th marathon for kids and schools. I am so happy to be back running; I haven’t run a marathon since March, when I ran the Antarctica marathon. This summer was busy with work, stoop sale and fundraising. We raised almost $20,000 this summer! I am incredibly grateful to all donors, family and friends. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your generosity and kindness. β€
Once I finish running all marathons this year, I will travel to Senegal, Burkina Faso and Haiti to build two more schools and distribute water filters.
Starting November 18, my itinerary is: Senegal -> Burkina Faso -> New York ->Haiti -> NY. Your support has a tremendous impact on so many families around the world.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. β€
The marathon was in Madison, Wisconsin. It was a great race, we got lots of chocolate and beer at the end. But I think what made it even greater was the time of year that it took place. It was during the Labor Day weekend and Madison really knows how to celebrate and have fun! Such an awesome and progressive vibe this city has. Lots of parks, lakes, amazing landscape, cool bars and restaurants, lots of music too. I really liked the city!
Here are some pictures from my short adventure in Wisconsin. I took all the pics with my cellphone.
Cute ads I did for the social media. The morning of the marathon was thunder-storming and raining. I ran a lot in rain, but it wasn’t that bad in the end.
This was the 16th state I ran a marathon in. My goal is to run a marathon in every state.
I was so happy when I finished. Nothing really hurt. π My plan was to go for a long hike and explore Madison more after the marathon, so I did that and it was awesome.
Wisconsin State Capitol – such a beautiful building. I took a tour and learned so much about Wisconsin’s history and legislature. Wisconsin Supreme Court is composed of 7 justices who are elected state wide. Six of them are women. The state has the highest percentage of female Supreme Court justices in United States. Yeah!
This was very cool – Street fair with lots of live music, tasty local beer and so much food. This is Wheelhouse covering one of my favorite bands Fleetwood Mac.
I realized that I don’t like recording videos at concerts, I love rocking out too much. π
Still, I am happy I did it this time. The violin at the end is so awesome.
Wisconsin University – one of the most beautiful campuses I have seen. I spent hours exploring it and taking a long nice hike by the Mendota lake.
Graduation Bucky Badger – the official mascot of the University of Wisconsin.
Bucky Badgers are all over the city. They are very cute.
This view reminded me a lot of my hometown, Timisoara, in Romania. β€
We have a lot of weeping willow trees too. I love them, they seem like wanderlust souls.
Students and ducks chilling.
I pretty much went to every place on this map after the marathon π I walked for another 10 miles that afternoon. I made it all the way to the Picnic Point.
On my way to the Picnic Point.

Hiking at night was as pretty as during the day.
He did love the water!
The dream continues. Four more states this year, next are:
New Hampshire, Maine, Connecticut and North Carolina.
Thank you again for your support and so much love. β€
