Route 66 Marathon – Tulsa, Oklahoma
Last Sunday, I ran my 9th marathon of 2017 and 19th overall since I embarked on the journey to run marathons around the world and build schools for kids, 3 years ago. Thank you so much for all the donations and love. We’ve raised almost $10,500 and we are getting closer to the $200,000 mark.
Next year, I will be traveling to Nicaragua (Central America) and Burkina Faso (West Africa) to help build two more schools. This is all possible because of your generosity and support. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me make an impact on so many lives for generations to come.
The marathon was awesome; I really loved it! The weather was perfect for running – the temperature was in the high 50s, with glorious sunbeams streaming through the beautiful blue sky.
Lots of Tulsans came out to support the runners; they shared their food, water and booze with us. 🙂 It felt more like a fun giant party rather than a long boring race. Loved the music too, lots of oldies and Rock and Roll tunes, like Bob Dylan and Creedence Clearwater Revival. The course was hard, hilly, but also enjoyable. The up and down hills felt like they were in perfect synchronicity – the downhills came at the right time after the uphills, timing each other pitch perfectly.
I think I ran through some of the most beautiful suburbs I have seen so far in all of my marathons. The fall foliage was absolutely stunning! All streets were bursting with vibrant-colored trees. It was such a pretty sight.
Overall, I loved the experience and I highly recommend the marathon!
Finally, I’d like to thank my dear friend, Tammy for taking such good care of me while I was there. Thank you for your friendship, hospitality and kindness. I enjoyed our talks and I am looking forward to visiting you again. I love you, Tammy! 🙂
Yay, happy me! Thank you, Tulsa! You were amazing.
My next marathon is in 2 weeks in Delaware. Two of my favorite people – my coaches, Coach Asteria and Coach Sid are coming with me to support me. We will drive to Delaware on Friday, have dinner and on Saturday I will run my 10th marathon of the year and wrap up my “10 for 10” campaign of the year! Run 10 marathons for $10 donations.
Yay! Thank you again so much for your donations, love and unwavering support. I am so grateful to you all. ❤
